Test Track is a high-speed thrill ride located in the World Discovery section of EPCOT. This exhilarating attraction allows guests to design their own virtual concept vehicle and then put it to the test through a series of rigorous assessments. With its combination of interactive elements, cutting-edge technology, and thrilling finale, Test Track offers an unforgettable experience for guests seeking excitement and innovation

In June 2024, the ride closed for a refurbishment to be reimagined with a more futuristic look. It will once again open beginning July 22, 2025.

Queue

The queue for the new Test Track takes guests through a few different rooms, beginning with one that focuses on the history and innovation of vehicles. You’ll see concepts of vehicles starting from the early 1900s to today, before being led into another room where the focus is on the future of fuel innovation and engines. From there, you’ll see concept vehicles from General Motors and Imagineering, all of which have come from designs GM has shared on what could be coming in the future.

Eventually, this leads you to the loading area, forgoing the previous room where you could design your own car. With the new Test Track, that part of the queue has been removed.

Accessibility

Test Track is accessible to guests who use wheelchairs or scooters. The ride features transfer-accessible vehicles for those who need to transfer from their mobility device to the ride vehicle.

On-Ride Photo

Yes, there is an on-ride photo taken as you take your final high speed loop outside. You can access your photo through My Disney Experience and download it if you have purchased a Lightning Lane for the day or have bought Memory Maker.

Ride Tips

This is a popular attraction, often experiencing long wait times. Arriving early, using a Lightning Lane, or taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry can help reduce wait times.

At this point, we don’t know if the ride will use a virtual queue when it reopens, but we do know that it will be available as a first tier selection for Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Is Test Track Kid-Friendly?

The ride is suitable for older children, teens, and adults who meet the height requirement. The thrilling ride (especially that high-speed ending!) appeals to guests of all ages, though the high-speed elements might be intense for very young children.

Best For: Families with older kids, teens, and thrill-seekers.

Will Test Track Cause Motion Sickness?

The ride features high speeds, sharp turns, and sudden accelerations. While generally well-tolerated, those prone to motion sickness should be aware of the ride’s intensity. It’s an ideal option for guests looking for a high-energy and innovative adventure in EPCOT.

Thank you to Disney for hosting us during a preview of Test Track.
