The Best Disney World Hotel Pools for Families (Ranked by a Disney Expert)

by | Jun 15, 2026 | Disney World Resorts & Hotels, Walt Disney World

Wondering where to find the best Disney World splash pads at the hotels? These are the hotel locations worth considering on your visit.

When you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation, it’s easy to focus on ride rankings, dining reservations, and Lightning Lane strategies. But if you’re visiting during Florida’s warmer months—or traveling with young kids—the hotel pool can become just as important as the parks themselves.

While every Disney Resort hotel has at least one pool, some resorts offer experiences that feel like attractions in their own right. From sprawling water playgrounds and splash pads to lazy rivers and some of the best waterslides on Disney property, these are the Disney World hotel pools I think are most worth building a vacation around.

Best Disney World Pools

Disney’s Deluxe Resorts are generally home to the most elaborate pool complexes, complete with themed waterslides, splash zones, and poolside dining. That said, you’ll also find standout options at Moderate and Value Resorts, including one of Disney World’s most beloved family pools.

Here are the Disney World hotel pools that stand out most for families.

Best Overall Pool: Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

Few hotel pools anywhere can compete with Stormalong Bay.

Shared between Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort, this three-acre water complex feels more like a miniature water park than a hotel amenity. The centerpiece is a life-sized shipwreck that houses one of Disney World’s longest hotel waterslides, sending guests on a 230-foot journey into the pool below.

Beyond the slide, families will find a sandy-bottom pool, lazy river, whirlpool spas, and plenty of shallow areas for younger swimmers.

What makes Stormalong Bay special isn’t just its size – it’s how easy it is to spend an entire afternoon there without feeling the need to leave. Between poolside dining at Hurricane Hanna’s and the nearby fan-favorite Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, everything you need for a resort day is within walking distance.

Why families love it: It offers enough activities to turn a pool day into a vacation highlight.

Best Splash Pad and Water Play Area: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village

Families with younger children shouldn’t overlook Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village. While the Samawati Springs Pool is impressive on its own, the real star is Uwanja Camp, one of the most extensive splash play areas at Walt Disney World.

Designed as an African-themed water playground, Uwanja Camp features three distinct zones tailored to different age groups.

The Observation Station is ideal for toddlers and preschoolers, offering shallow water, bubbling geysers, and interactive play elements. Slightly older children can head to the Departure Zone, where water towers, squirting flowers, and climbing structures encourage active play. Meanwhile, bigger kids can challenge each other at Base Camp with water cannons and larger splash features.

For families with children who aren’t quite ready for the deeper pools, Uwanja Camp provides a safe and engaging alternative that can easily occupy an entire morning.

Why families love it: It’s one of the best splash pad areas at Disney World for toddlers and younger kids.

Best Hotel Water Slide: Luna Park Pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Stormalong Bay may get most of the attention, but one of Disney World’s most unique hotel waterslides can be found just a short walk away.

The Luna Park Pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn features a 200-foot waterslide themed to a vintage seaside roller coaster. Originally known as the Keister Coaster, the slide remains one of the most memorable on Disney property thanks to its whimsical design and surprisingly long ride.

The BoardWalk pool complex also includes a large main pool, two quieter leisure pools, and easy access to Leaping Horse Libations for snacks and drinks.

Another bonus? Guests can walk directly to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, making it easy to balance pool time with park time.

Why families love it: The slide feels like an attraction of its own, especially for older kids.

Best Pool at a Value Resort: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Not every great Disney pool requires a Deluxe Resort budget.

The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort remains one of the most impressive pools at any Disney hotel. Inspired by Finding Nemo, it’s the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World and features colorful underwater theming, splash areas for younger guests, and interactive elements that kids love.

The larger-than-life character statues surrounding the pool make it feel immersive even when you’re not swimming, and families staying in the popular family suites can enjoy easy access throughout their stay.

Why families love it: It delivers big Disney theming without Deluxe Resort prices.

Best Pool on Disney Property: Four Seasons Resort Orlando

While it isn’t a Disney-owned hotel, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando deserves a place on this list.

Explorer Island, the resort’s five-acre water playground, includes waterslides, a splash zone, a family pool, an adults-only pool, and one of the best lazy rivers in Central Florida.

For younger children, the splash area offers plenty of shallow-water play opportunities. Older kids can tackle the slides, while adults can retreat to quieter pool areas when they need a break.

When I visited with my daughter, the lazy river quickly became the highlight of our stay. We spent so much time floating around that she would have happily skipped the parks altogether.

Why families love it: It offers something for every age group, from toddlers to grandparents.

At Walt Disney World, your resort is more than just a place to sleep. The right pool can provide a much-needed break from the parks, help fill a non-park day, or even become one of the most memorable parts of your vacation.

Whether you’re looking for a toddler-friendly splash pad, a thrilling waterslide, or a pool complex that feels like a water park, these Disney World resorts offer some of the best pool experiences on property.
