There are some weeks that are, quite frankly, not as desirable. Let’s take a look at the “worst” times to visit Disney World.
The Worst Times to Visit Disney World
Presidents Day Week
February, for the most part, is a great month to visit WDW – then, boom, Presidents Day week arrives and so do the crowds.
Until 2017, when the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts started, there wasn’t anything extra special (aside from your casual, everyday Disney magic) going on in February to take your mind off the heavy Presidents Day week crowds. But now, at least there’s that!
Spring Break
From early March through Easter Tuesday, Walt Disney World turns into a Spring Break mecca for lots of families. From the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts to the annual Easter [chocolate] egg display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there’s so much that I look forward to seeing and doing this time of year, but the crowds are in full force!
Spooky Season
October has gone from being one of the best (slowest) months to visit to one of the most crowded times of the year. It’s right up there with the summer months in terms of crowds! The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party bring a lot of people in.
Christmas Week
Believe it or not, the “worst” week to visit is also arguably the most magical week of the year. I’m talking about the week of Christmas! The biggest crowds of the year start on Christmas Day and run through New Year’s Day. I’m talking parks reaching maximum capacity type of crowds.
If there’s one week of the year I’d try to avoid for my Disney trips, it’s the week of Christmas. While it’s such an indescribably special concept to be at the most magical place on earth on the most magical day of the year, the extremely high level of crowds makes it a bit challenging to accomplish a lot of what you’d likely look to do on your trip.
