Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can feel overwhelming, especially when it seems like seasoned Disney fans know a million hidden tricks you’ve never heard before. But when it comes to staying at a Disney Resort hotel, some of the best “secrets” are actually built-in perks that many guests overlook.

From extra hours in the parks to easier airport travel and better dining reservation access, staying inside the Disney bubble comes with benefits that can seriously improve your trip — especially for families trying to maximize both value and convenience.

Here are some of the best hidden Disney World hotel perks you may not realize you’re getting.

Get Extra Time Inside the Disney Parks

One of the biggest advantages of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is the extra park time you’ll receive during your vacation.

Disney currently offers two major park-time perks for resort guests:

• Early Theme Park Entry
• Extended Evening Hours

Every Disney Resort hotel guest — along with guests at select partner hotels — can take advantage of Early Entry, which allows you to enter any of the four Disney World parks 30 minutes before official opening.

And while 30 minutes may not sound like much, it can make a huge difference. Shorter wait times during that first half hour can help you knock out major attractions before crowds build later in the day.

For many families, this perk alone can reduce the need to purchase Lightning Lane access.

Meanwhile, guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts receive an even bigger perk: Extended Evening Hours. On select nights, eligible guests can remain inside certain parks after official closing time to enjoy lower crowds and shorter waits.

If you’ve ever dreamed of riding attractions with noticeably lighter crowds, these extra hours can feel like a VIP experience without paying extra for a special ticketed event.

Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney Resorts

If you’ve ever wished for an easier experience navigating the airport and your hotel, good news: When you stay at select Disney World Resorts, the process can be a total breeze (at least on your way home).

Disney began testing the waters on this new hotel perk at the Pop Century resort in the spring of 2025, and the program has since expanded to guests staying at any Value Resort who also have tickets with checked bags booked leaving Orlando International Airport on Southwest Airlines. If you fit those criteria, just call or visit Luggage Assistance at the beginning of your stay to register. 

The day before your departure, check in online to your Southwest Airlines flight and take your luggage to your resort’s Luggage Assistance (along with a piece of photo ID) spot right onsite. Your bags will be taken to the airport and checked in for you, and you can simply enjoy your last minutes at Disney World… and a smooth process of getting through the airport itself.

Priority Dining Reservation Access

Let’s be honest, getting a reservation for Disney World’s most popular restaurants can be a total headache. Disney World is a foodie’s delight, but when it comes to table service restaurants, many wonderful options require an advance dining reservation (or ADR). If there’s a special meal your party has been dreaming of – including any Character Dining options – you’ll want to make your reservation as early as possible. 

And if you happen to be staying at a Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll have an advantage here: early dining reservation access goes to guests.

If you’re staying with Disney, your advance dining reservation window opens up 60 days prior to your check-in date, and is open for every day of your stay immediately. This may seem small, but it’s an enormous advantage. You’ll be able to nab reservations ahead of the general public.

Of course, the most sought-after reservations still book up quickly, so set your alarm clock, ADRs generally open up as early as 6am. May the odds be ever in your favor!
