Pop into The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and you’ll find both a quick-service restaurant serving up satisfying entrées and a grab-and-go market filled with snacks, sweets, and so much more.
If you’re looking for food to take into the theme parks or back to your hotel room, The Mara is the perfect on-the-way stop for guests staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge or one of the two villas, Jambo House or Kidani Village.
The Mara Location
You’ll find The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It sits on the lower level, outside of the main lobby and not far from table-service restaurants Boma and Jiko – The Cooking Place.
The Mara Menu
Whether you’re looking for a full hot meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner or need a late-night snack, The Mara has it all. With options made for eating on the go (think prepackaged items and bakery goodies) as well as entrées that can be enjoyed right there inside The Mara, it’s a very versatile spot to dine.
Plus, The Mara is open most hours of the day. You can enjoy all three “official” meals, and there are also snack menus and late night menus available so you can find something to eat until 11:00 PM.

Disney Dining Plan
You can use the Disney Dining Plan at The Mara, and both versions of the plan – the Disney Dining Plan and Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan – are accepted.
It’ll cost you one quick-service meal credit per person to dine here, if you’re opting for an entrée. Or, you can use your snack credits here to grab bakery goods, prepackaged snacks, or other items that qualify for the Disney Dining Plan.
Advance Dining Reservations
Because The Mara is both a quick-service restaurant and a snack stop, you cannot make advance dining reservations (ADRs) here. Luckily, it’s not a place where there’s too long of a wait any time of the day.
Should you encounter a very long line or simply want to save time with hungry kids, The Mara does offer Mobile Order. You can plan ahead or place a Mobile Order on short notice to skip the wait and grab your items ASAP, with the help of the My Disney Experience app.
Is The Mara Kid-Friendly?
Casual, laid-back, and completely flexible for diners, The Mara is absolutely a kid-friendly place to dine. Not only is it super convenient for anyone who’s staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge – you can dine here pretty much any time, no matter when your kids get hungry (or hangry) and need a snack – but it’s also full of options for every age.
Thanks to its mix of traditional entrée-style dishes and varied snacks, you can easily find options kids will love. Picky eaters and adventurous eaters alike will love the mix of seasonal exclusive treats and classic options like waffles or cinnamon rolls.
Plus, no one will care if you need to pop in while taking a break from the pool or with not-so-perfectly-behaved kids. The dining space is super casual, and you can always take your food elsewhere if your kids need a break from being out and about.
