Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Overview

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the most unique resorts at Disney World, offering guests the unique opportunity to stay on the same property as a variety of wildlife. As a Deluxe Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge offers luxurious accommodations, top-tier dining, and unparalleled experiences with African wildlife. The resort is divided into two main areas: Jambo House, the larger main building, and Kidani Village, a Disney Vacation Club property. Both areas are connected by a walking path and offer access to the resort’s impressive savannas, home to over 200 animals and birds from over 30 species.

Staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge also comes with perks like Early Theme Park Entry, allowing guests to enter each theme park thirty minutes before the official opening.

Room Types

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a variety of room types to suit different needs:

  • Standard Rooms: These rooms can accommodate up to four guests and come with either two queen-size beds or one king-size bed. Some rooms offer stunning views of the savanna, allowing guests to watch animals from their balcony.
  • Savanna View Rooms: These rooms feature direct views of the savannas, providing an extraordinary opportunity to observe wildlife right from your room.
  • Deluxe Villas: Located in both Jambo House and Kidani Village, these villas offer more space and amenities, including one, two, and three-bedroom options, perfect for larger families or groups.

Transportation

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge provides bus transportation to all Disney theme parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks. While the resort is a bit farther from Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, the unique experience of staying so close to Animal Kingdom makes it a special destination.

Dining at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a culinary adventure, with a variety of options inspired by the flavors of Africa:

  • Jiko – The Cooking Place: A signature dining experience offering a blend of traditional African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine, paired with South African wines. Located at Jambo House.
  • Boma – Flavors of Africa: A buffet-style restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, featuring a wide range of African-inspired dishes. Located at Jambo House.
  • Sanaa: Located in Kidani Village, Sanaa offers Indian-style bread service, African-inspired entrees, and views of the savanna, where you can watch animals while you dine. Located at Kidani Village.
  • The Mara: A quick-service dining location offering a variety of grab-and-go options, as well as some African-inspired dishes. Located at Jambo House.
  • Victoria Falls Lounge: A relaxing lounge offering cocktails, wines, and appetizers. Located at Kidani Village.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge features two pools at each of its buildings, one at Kidani Village and one at Jambo House.
