World Discovery

World Discovery is one of the four themed areas at EPCOT, representing a fusion of science, technology, and interstellar adventure. This area has undergone significant transformations to better align with EPCOT’s vision of futuristic exploration and innovation. Attractions such as Test Track and Mission: SPACE anchor World Discovery, offering guests high-speed automotive testing adventures and a simulation of space training experiences, respectively. The area also includes the newer Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a thrilling roller coaster that combines storytelling with thrilling action.

Along with rides, you’ll find exciting, immersive opportunities such as the Space 220 Restaurant, which soars you 220 miles into the sky for a meal at a space station.

World Discovery Attractions

In this land, you can travel into space (as an astronaut or as an unofficial member of the Guardians of the Galaxy), or test drive a car. The area is home to some of the biggest thrill rides you’ll find in EPCOT:

• Mission: SPACE: Offering two different experiences (Green for a milder adventure and Orange for more intense G-forces), this simulator gives guests a taste of what it’s like to train for a space mission.
• Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: This high-speed roller coaster features a unique reverse launch and is themed around the popular Marvel movie series, combining thrilling action with an engaging storyline.A
• Test Track: This attraction allows guests to design their own virtual concept car and then take it for a high-speed test drive on a thrilling track.

World Discovery Dining

World Discovery Table Service Restaurants

The major dining attraction is Space 220, an immersive restaurant that takes you to a space station, complete with windows that will allow you to see out into the galaxy. 

• Space 220 Restaurant: An immersive restaurant with a pre-fixe menu for lunch, and dinner. Advance Dining Reservations are highly recommended.
  • Space 220 Lounge: Along with the main restaurant, Space 220 offers a bar area where you can eat off of a limited menu and grab a drink. Walk-ups are sometimes available but limited.

World Discovery Snack Spots, Carts, and More

There are two quick options for snacks and drinks that you can find as part of World Discovery:

• Joffrey’s in World Discovery: Located towards Cosmic Rewind, Joffrey’s offers freshly brewed coffee and pastries.
• Refreshment Station: Enjoy slushies or other cooling refreshments at this stop near Test Track.

World Discovery Shopping

• Mission: SPACE Cargo Bay: Located at the exit of Mission: SPACE, this gift shop offers space-themed merchandise, including apparel, toys, and collectibles.
• Test Track SIMporium: After experiencing Test Track, visitors can stop by this shop to find automotive-themed merchandise, such as car accessories, clothing, and models, which reflect the design and test themes of the ride.
• Wonders of Xandar Gift Shop: Pick up merchandise related to the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, including clothing, accessories, and collectibles that feature characters and motifs from the movies.
