Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid invites guests to dive into the enchanting world of Ariel and her friends. Located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, this dark ride retells the beloved story of The Little Mermaid through a series of beautifully designed scenes.

Guests board clamshell vehicles that glide through immersive underwater settings, featuring animatronic characters, vibrant visuals, and classic songs from the film.

Queue

The queue for Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid is partially outdoors and partially covered, with themed areas that transport guests to Prince Eric’s seaside castle. The covered sections provide shade and some relief from the sun, enhancing the overall comfort of the queue. You’ll also get the chance to spot a very cool Scuttle animatronic once inside!

Accessibility

The ride features accessible clamshell vehicles for those who use wheelchairs or scooters. Guests must be able to transfer from their mobility device to the ride vehicle independently or with assistance from their party. Assistive listening devices are available for guests with hearing impairments.

On-Ride Photo

There is no on-ride photo for the attraction, but the detailed queue and the exterior of Prince Eric’s castle provide excellent photo opportunities.

Ride Tips

Unlike some of its Fantasyland companions, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid typically has a pretty manageable wait time. While some of the queue is located inside, the second portion is all interior, so you can enjoy some air conditioning while you wait. This ride is a great choice for when you want to get your kids on an attraction with air conditioning without a huge wait time.
