At Disney’s All Star Movies Resort you get to experience some of the most beloved classic Disney movies of all time. Who wouldn’t want to stay in the middle of Fantasia, The Love Bug, 101 Dalmations, The Mighty Ducks or the original Toy Story?

How cool is that?

The All Star hotels are Disney Value Resorts and are the most affordable at Walt Disney World. Affordable and fun.

The All Star Resorts are grouped together in the same area. As you drive down West Buena Vista Drive, you pass the All Star Sports, the All Star Music and then you get to the All Star Movies.

Let’s go!

Disney Value Resorts are know for big resorts with lots of comfortable rooms (small but nice). There are big icons, bold colors and fun. Lots of fun.

Parking lots surround the room buildings. Room buildings are 3 stories tall and have big sayings on the top and cool icons all around.

Rooms are accessed from outdoors. There is a food court in the main building that gets really busy at mealtimes.

Like the other Value Resorts crowds at the All Star Movies are part of the experience.

Guest Rooms

The normal rooms at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort are pretty small. They measure 260 square feet, and there is not a lot of wasted space. You have choices of preferred or standard rooms (the difference is how close you are to the Classic Hall) and a king room or a double bed room.

Rooms come with a TV, dresser, table and two chairs. All the rooms have free Wi-Fi, a telephone and an alarm clock.

The guest room buildings at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort are undergoing refurbishment.

The Rooms

In the refurbished rooms there are 2 bed choices available. The majority of rooms have 2 queen beds. OK, so only 1 is a standard bed. One is a fold down bed called an Innova bed. When not in use the Innova bed folds up into the wall and turns into a table.

The other option is a King bed. The King bed rooms have a small table and two chairs.

The rooms at the Disney’s All Star Movies Resort are standard hotel rooms. They measure 260 sq. feet. They are very functional, but there is not any wasted space.. They are reasonably comfortable for a family of 4.

What’s in the room

The rooms are equipped with everything most travelers need for a great vacation. There are 2 types of rooms available, Standard and Preferred. The only difference is the proximity to the Cinema Hall.

Below is a list of the furnishings in the rooms:

  • A dresser with drawers for storage and a touch pad safe
  • A 50″ Flat Screen TV
  • Queen rooms the pull down bed has a table with 2 chairs, king rooms have a separate table and 2 chairs
  • A pocket door between the sleeping area and the bathroom and between the shower and the sink areas
  • A hutch with a refrigerator and a coffee maker (Joffery’s coffee included)
  • Telephone
  • Multiple charging stations with USB ports
  • Bathroom with a shower tub, or a walk in shower in the handicapped rooms
  • a hair dryer, ironing board and iron

The refurbished rooms are not as colorful or as Disneyish as the old rooms but are very functional.

Number of guests per room

Disney rules allow 4 guests per room. You can add 1 infant that can sleep in a crib. If you have more than 2 adults, Disney charges a $10.00 per night per adult fee. (4 adults would be an extra $20.00 per night.

Money Saving Tip: If your family has more than 4, or you just want some extra space, reserve 2 rooms. Disney only requires one adult per room. You can request connecting rooms, there are lots of connecting rooms.

Two rooms would give you 520 square feet which is more space than any other regular room at Disney World. PLUS you would have two bathrooms. (If you have any females in your party, two bathrooms will come in handy.)

The Cinema Hall is the center of the All Star Movies Resort. It where you’ll find checkin, the concierge desk, the arcade and the World Premier food court and gift shop.

It’s also home to bell services, Magical Express and is where the bus stop is located. The main pool and the Silver Screen Silver Spirit bar are located just outside Cinema Hall.

Pretty much anything you’ll need during your stay is at Cinema Hall.

World Premier Food Court

Like all the Value Resorts, the Disney All Star Movies Resort has a nice food court called World Premier. It’s a good place to grab a bite to eat on your way to the parks in the mornings or a meal when you come back from the park.

The food court has 4 food stations. They are named Roxy Shop, Majestic Shop, Grand Shop, and Lyric Shop. Each station offers different menu options. The Grand Shop has grab and go items. The other shops make fresh foods.

TIP: If you are in the Mighty Ducks section, it’s closer to go to the All Star Music Food Court

The eating area is large with lots of tables, but because of the size of the resort, but it’s probably not as big as is should be during busy periods and finding a table can be a chore.

Pools and more

The All Star Movies Resort has two heated pools. A hockey rink themed pool is in the Mighty Ducks area. The Fantasia area has a pool where Sorcerer Mickey directs a liquid symphony including shooting water.

There is a kiddie area near the Fantasia pool.

Transportation

Getting around at Disney World, especially from the Value Resorts can sometimes be a hassle. Dad always recommends a car at Disney World. Disney provides Luxury Motor Coach (bus) service to all the parks, water parks and Disney Springs.

The bus stop is located in front of Cinema Hall.

PS. Disney has implemented a nightly parking fee for guests with cars at Disney Resorts.

Location

The All Star Movies Resort is a little remote. It’s not really close to any of the parks. The Animal Kingdom is the closest.
