It’s also very expensive — for 2025, the event can cost anywhere between $169 and $219 per adult. For families, that can mean hundreds (or even over a thousand) dollars added to an already pricey vacation.

There’s no denying the appeal of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It’s charming, nostalgic, and beautifully produced. But for many families, it’s just not worth the splurge.
The price is the first hurdle. Even with the promise of smaller crowds, it’s a steep cost for just a few extra hours in the park. And while “limited capacity” sounds nice, the party can still feel crowded, especially on popular nights. Families with younger children may also struggle to enjoy the full event, which runs late into the night — long after most little ones are ready for bed.

Finally, much of what makes Magic Kingdom feel so festive during the holidays — from the glittering decorations to the snow falling on Main Street — is available to everyone during regular park hours. So if you’re visiting anytime from early November through December, you can still soak in the magic without the special ticket.
Holiday Fun Inside the Parks (No Party Ticket Needed)

If your trip is closer to Christmas week, you’ll even catch the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which moves to daytime performances once the final party ends. Pair that with seasonal treats, festive background music, and the magical snowfall that falls nightly on Main Street, and you’ve got plenty of cheer — no wristband required.
EPCOT
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays might be the most underrated part of Disney’s holiday lineup — and it’s included with regular admission. You can sample traditional dishes from around the world at the Holiday Kitchens, listen to the moving Candlelight Processional, and meet storytellers from each pavilion sharing holiday traditions. It’s festive, educational, and perfect for families who love cultural experiences.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
While Disney Jollywood Nights is another separately ticketed event, you can still enjoy plenty of holiday fun in the park without it. The Sunset Seasons Greetings projection show on Sunset Boulevard turns the Tower of Terror into a colorful holiday display each evening. You’ll also find vintage-inspired décor, holiday treats, and maybe even a few character surprises.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom celebrates the season in a more subtle, nature-inspired way. Don’t miss the Merry Menagerie — life-size winter animal puppets that interact with guests near the Tree of Life. As night falls, the park’s signature tree lights up with projection shows, and each land adds its own festive touches, from the colorful decorations in Pandora to holiday costumes for characters in DinoLand.
Holiday Resort Hopping
One of the best-kept secrets of a Disney holiday trip? You don’t need a park ticket to experience some of the most stunning decorations on property. Disney resorts go all out for the season, and exploring them is free.

Start at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, home to the iconic life-size gingerbread house, which doubles as a working bake shop. You can smell the gingerbread before you even see it, and it’s a must-do photo spot. (NOTE: The Grand Floridian gingerbread house will be unavailable in 2025)
Next, hop over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, where a massive Christmas tree towers over the lobby and roaring fireplaces give serious cozy cabin vibes.
The Beach Club and Yacht Club are also worth a visit for their coastal holiday displays and intricately detailed gingerbread carousel that actually spins.
If you’re planning a day off from the parks, consider resort-hopping along the monorail or Skyliner — it’s a great way to experience different atmospheres without spending a dime.
Free or Low-Cost Holiday Offerings Beyond the Parks
If you’re looking to stretch your Disney holiday magic even further, you’ll find a surprising number of festive options outside the parks.
