Attraction Overview
The steampunk stylings of Discoveryland, Disneyland Park’s version of Tomorrowland, suit the Orbitron beautifully. The spinning, retro-style rockets racing to nowhere in particular and the massive bronze 19th century rotating planetarium as the central axis will all feel very familiar to past visitors to the American Disney Parks, where a strikingly similar spinner goes by the name “Astro Orbiter”.
Queue and Storyline
The biggest difference between the Orbitron and its ride-alikes in the American parks is that the ride is not on a roof, but is on the ground. In the process, Orbitron is missing one of the most unique aspects of the Astro Orbiter’s queue… the wait for an elevator to take you to the top. Some young riders will appreciate the reduction of heights, but most will never miss it.
Accessibility
The Orbitron is rated for Family Adventure and Fun for Little Ones. It is an attraction “with little or no flash”, and is accessible to pregnant women. However, riders are required to transfer from their wheelchairs.

Is Orbitron Kid-Friendly?
The Orbitron is fueled by the imagination of the heroic space pilots that pilot its fleet of rocket racers. The Orbitron may be slightly faster than the average spinner, but not enough to turn fun into fright. Allowing young riders to control how high they fly as they soar through the stratosphere removes even more chance of fear, but when it comes down to it, this is “Dumbo” in a space helmet, and what could be more kid-friendly than that?
Motion Sickness
Round and round the rockets go. Where they stop, nobody knows… If that scrap of poetry gives you the rumbly tumbly, then you might want to consider if this spinning starcraft is for you. If it helps, the Orbitron is only about a minute and a half of… well.. Orbiting. Good luck, Space Pilot!
