When will Disney World water parks open? We’re sharing the reopening dates for both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
Disney just shared a welcome update for families planning a hot-weather Walt Disney World trip: both water parks will operate at the same time this summer, starting May 12.
That’s a big deal because Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon usually rotate seasons. Instead of having to plan around whichever park happens to be open, you’ll have options, perfect for arrival days, rest days, or those afternoons when the Florida heat hits hardest.
Disney World Water Park Schedule Update
Both Disney World water parks will be open at the same time beginning May 12, 2026. Resort hotel guests with arrival dates from May 26–September 8, 2026 can use the free water park admission perk on check-in day; and once both parks are open, you’ll be able to choose either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.
There’s also a Water Park Seasonal Pass available if you plan to visit more than once.
Disney World Water Parks Opening Dates
This summer, all six Disney World parks will be operating at once, meaning the four theme parks plus both water parks. While Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon typically alternate schedules, Disney has been leaning into keeping both open during peak season, and that’s happening again this year.

Typhoon Lagoon will close beginning February 14, with Blizzard Beach reopening the following day on February 15. Then, Typhoon Lagoon will reopen on May 12, with both parks operating for the warmer months.
Disney Resort Guests Can Get Free Water Park Admission on Arrival Day
This update is especially useful for guests staying at Disney World resort hotels. For arrival dates from May 26 through September 8, 2026, Disney resort guests receive free water park admission on check-in day.

Should You Consider the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass?
If your crew loves water parks (or you’re the type who wants a low-pressure Disney day that doesn’t involve Lightning Lane strategy) the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass might be worth a look. It’s priced at $89 for adults and $83 for kids, and it allows multiple visits through May 9, 2026, with blockout dates from March 28 through April 5, 2026.

The pass also comes with a few helpful extras. There’s a 20% discount on cabana rentals when available as a walk-up offer, which can be a nice upgrade on especially hot days. It also includes a free round of mini golf before 4 PM at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens, which is an easy add-on if you want to keep the fun going after you’ve dried off.
Why This Matters for Summer Trips
Summer at Disney World can be incredible, but it’s also when heat and humidity become part of the planning equation. Having both water parks open at the same time makes it easier to build in breaks, pace your trip, and give your kids a day that feels “Disney” without being as intense as a full day in the theme parks.
