Disney World Extended Evening Hours: A Guide to the Deluxe Resort Perk

Those who have been fans of Disney World for awhile will remember Extra Magic Hours, which gave extra time in the parks as a perk for staying at a Disney World Resort hotel. In 2020, those were retired in favor of two new perks: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. Early THeme Park Entry is offered to all on-site guests (as well as some off-site hotel guests) and allows entry into the parks 30 minutes before the official opening. Exetended Evenings Hours, however, are only available for those at Deluxe Resort hotels.

What are Disney World’s Extended Evening Hours?

Extended Evenings Hours are available to those staying at Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. These guests can stay two additional hours in the parks after they’ve closed, on select nights at select parks

Virtual Queue

As you likely noticed, there are a few rides that are open for Extended Evening Hours that typically use virtual queues during the day. A separate virtual queue is used at night for these rides. For TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT guests attending Extended Evening Hours can join the virtual queue beginning at 6 PM that day.
