There’s a new way to do Disney this summer, and for a lot of families, it might actually make more sense than the traditional rope drop strategy.
Walt Disney World Resort has introduced a Half Day Park Ticket for Summer 2026, giving guests the option to enter the parks after 2 PM at a lower price point. If you’ve ever struggled to get everyone out the door early—or felt like you were paying for park hours you didn’t use, this is worth a closer look.
Here’s what families need to know before buying.
What Is the Disney World Half Day Ticket?
This is a date-based, multi-day ticket that lets you visit one park per day, but only starting at 2 PM.
You can choose between a 2-day or 3-day ticket, with pricing starting at $118 per day for 2 days and $116 per day for 3 days (ages 10+). There’s no need to make park reservations, which simplifies planning—especially if you’re juggling kids, dining plans, and everything else that comes with a Disney trip.

The tradeoff is straightforward: you’re giving up the morning hours in exchange for a lower price and a more relaxed start to your day.
How the Dates and Usage Work
The ticket is available for start dates between May 26 and July 29, 2026.
Once your ticket is activated, you’ll have a limited window to use it. A 2-day ticket must be used within four days of your selected start date, while a 3-day ticket must be used within five days. That flexibility can be helpful if you want to build in a rest day or spend time enjoying your resort.
The Details That Matter for Families
The biggest thing to understand is timing. You won’t be able to enter a park until 2 PM, which means no early entry, no rope drop, and no knocking out headliner rides first thing in the morning.

Each day is limited to one park, and park hopping isn’t included. Like most special offers, these tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, and they don’t cover separately ticketed events like after-hours parties.
None of that is necessarily a dealbreaker—but it does mean you’ll want to go in with the right expectations.
