Disney World may be the Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of some incredibly stressful moments. It’s a place that takes a lot of planning pre-trip, and once you get there you have crowds, overstimulation, and distressingly high temperatures to deal with. But, to help you better plan out your vacation, we’re providing a list of some of the most stressful parts of your vacation…along with the Disney World planning tips to solve those problems!
Budgeting Your Trip
Let’s start with the most stressful part of any Disney trip — planning and budgeting! When it comes to planning we recommend starting right here with us, where you can find guides to the restaurants, hotels, crowd calendars, and more.
But, if you want a little more personalized help, we recommend starting your planning and budgeting with our travel agent partner. Using a travel agent can make your Disney World vacation as stress-free as possible. With their help, you’ll be able to know all of the best discounts to save you money on your trip, and they can help you plan out every detail of what you need. Whether it’s making the best Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservations, or adding on the Disney Dining Plan, a travel agent is your best bet for taking the stress out of planning.
The Disney Dining Plan
Speaking of the Disney Dining Plan, the choice of whether or not to add this prepaid service to your vacation (and learning all its ins and outs) can be a real headache. One of the best starting steps is to use our Dining Plan calculator, which will help you to calculate how much the Disney Dining Plan or Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan will add to your vacation package.

You can read more about what meals, restaurants, and credits are included within your specific meal by reading our full guide here. Our comprehensive guide will help you to be a Dining Plan expert, so you can know exactly what restaurants to book and what the best use of your money is going to be.
Figuring Out Lightning Lanes
Similarly, figuring out Lightning Lanes can be incredibly stressful. One of our best Disney World planning tips is making sure that you read ahead on what the difference is between Lightning Lane Premier Pass, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass, and a Virtual Queue. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is what took over for Disney Genie+ at Disney World, with a few key changes. Namely, the paid service to skip the line can now be done in advance. This should make for a much less stressful time for Disney planners, who previously were only able to purchase the service day-of.
However, to make the process overall simpler, we recommend reading up on how to use Lighting Lane Multi Pass (and Single Pass, and Premier Pass), and the best rides to pick when you’re looking to save the most time.
Crowds and Wait Times
Even during the “slower” seasons, Disney World can get incredibly crowded. And with those crowds come some sky-high wait times to contend with. One of our Disney World planning tips is to keep an eye on our Crowd Calendars, which will help you determine when the most and least busy times of year will be. As you’re planning, you can keep up with real-time wait times on our site, which will give you a better idea of what to expect from some of the most popular rides.

If your schedule means you can only visit the parks during the most crowded times of year, consider services like Lightning Lane Multi Pass to shorten your wait times. While the service is expensive (and even more so during busy times of year), it can be worth it when you want to get the most out of your day during a major holiday or crowded time of the year.
The Weather
One of the most stressful parts of Disney that simply cannot be controlled is the weather. Located in the middle of Florida, the spring through early fall can bring some truly sweltering temperatures – as well as rain storms. The best tip for dealing with the whacky weather in Orlando is to plan for it in advance. If you are visiting during one of the hotter times of year, make sure to pack essentials like sunscreen, rain ponchos, and fans, cooling towels, or other ways to keep you cool.
For the “colder” times of year, you’ll want to pack layers with you. Even if a day in the winter starts out in the 40s, you could easily see that temperature rise to the 70s or 80s as the day goes on. For whatever time of year you’re visiting, make sure you’re packing for the weather, which will save not only the stress but also your chances of having to buy items day-of in the parks.
