Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Overview

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is conveniently located across Hourglass Lake from Disney’s Pop Century Resort. In the Wide World of Sports Resort Area, where all destinations at Disney World previously needed to be accessed via bus or your car (rental car), guests at this resort now have the perk of taking the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or several other resorts on property. The family-friendly resort celebrates Disney and Pixar animation, with fun, themed sections that kids will love.

Room Types

Disney’s Art of Animation is home to two different room types, standard rooms and family suites. The latter category is one that makes this resort stand out for those that are traveling with a larger family, as it allows up to six guests in a suite. Here’s what you can expect with each of the accommodations:

  • Standard Rooms: Located in The Little Mermaid section (and themed to the movie), these feature two queen-size beds (or one king-size bed) and can sleep up to four guests.
  • Family Suites: Themed to The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars, each suite can accommodate up to six guests. Each comes with a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed, as well as a double-size convertible bed, and a double-size sleeper sofa. All of the suites also come with two bathrooms, and a kitchenette.

Transportation

Looking to get to the parks? There are two options here: a bus to Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or the Disney Skyliner to get to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you use the latter option, you’ll be transported by gondola to Caribbean Beach Resort, where you can transfer to the Skyliner for either park.

If there’s bad weather that halts the Skyliner for an extended period of time, buses will often become available to get to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead.

Dining

Dining options at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort include:

  • Landscape of Flavors: The main quick service location, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Includes multiple food stations with American fare.
  • The Drop-Off Pool Bar: Located near the Big Blue Pool, you can pick up cocktails, beer, or non-alcoholic beverages.
  • In-Room Pizza Delivery: If you’d rather eat in, you can order pizza straight to your room.

Pools and Activities

There are three themed pools at Disney’s Art of Animation, each located in different sections of the resort:

  • Big Blue Pool: Inspired by Finding Nemo, this is the largest hotel pool at Walt Disney World Resort. It features underwater speakers that play music and sounds from the movie, as well as a splash pad for younger kids.
  • Cozy Cone Pool: Located in the Cars section, this pool is surrounded by giant orange traffic cones like you’d find in the film.
  • Flippin’ Fins pool: This pool can be found in The Little Mermaid section, decorated with statues of characters from the movie.

Art of Animation also has quite a few other activities and amenities available. These include:

  • Pixel Play Arcade
  • Movies Under the Stars
  • Jogging Trail
  • Playgrounds
