Voyage of the Little Mermaid

UPDATE: This attraction has officially closed, and will be making way for a new The Little Mermaid show in fall 2024.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is another Walt Disney World show taken from the movie. Come see Ariel, Flounder and all the others as they prove that good will always triumph over evil (at least in Disney movies). This is one of the few remaining opening-day attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Pre-Show

Disney usually has great preshows, but not here. You stand in line outside (unless you’re lucky enough to be in thesmall indoor section of the queue that’s decorated like the hold of a ship), then you walk into the theater. Lines can get very long, but every show seats 500, so lines disappear rapidly a few times an hour.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid Attraction

Come and join Ariel under the sea as she makes her journey from a mermaid to a real girl (or something like that). The show tells a condensed version of the movie. It you haven’t seen the movie, you can watch the show. It’s a cliff notes version.

The show combines video with live action. All of the characters from the movie are in the show. Sebastian, Flounder, Ariel and Ursula all show up. And there are a few cool glow-in-the-dark effects. And bubbles, naturally.

The Fine Print

Here’s some small print information

Dad’s Bottom Line

Come on guys, suck it up. It’s a cute little show. The kids will love you forever.
