If you’re hoping to enjoy the atmosphere, Italian food, and drinks at Il Mulino at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel without the Fine/Signature Dining experience (and price tag), there’s an alternative: Il Mulino Lounge.
With a more casual atmosphere than the full table service restaurant, Il Mulino lounge is where you can enjoy Old World charm with modern touches, and it’s a great choice for an adults-only date night, lighter bites, or even happy hour.
Il Mulino Lounge Location
Il Mulino Lounge is located inside the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, and it sits right in the hotel’s lobby. The lounge is connected to the larger Il Mulino restaurant.
Il Mulino Lounge Menu
Like its table service counterpart, Il Mulino Lounge is home to plenty of Italian favorites. The menu is filled with traditional antipasti, handmade pizzas, hearty pastas, and even staples like chicken, steak, and seafood. So, whether you’re a pasta enthusiast or prefer something like an elevated pizza, it’s all available here.
While most lounges focus on a slimmed-down menu of solely light bites and lean more into drinks, Il Mulino Lounge actually has a pretty extensive menu. You can opt to stick with appetizers or dessert, enjoy full-size individual dishes, or even dine “piatti per il tavolo” (family style).
And while a lounge may not be the first place you’d take young kids, this one does offer a surprisingly long children’s menu – one that even serves picky eaters with familiar Italian and American options.

Disney Dining Plan
You won’t be able to use credits from the Disney Dining Plan at Il Mulino lounge for two reasons: It’s a bar and lounge, and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel doesn’t accept either version of the plan.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Il Mulino and the hotel don’t accept MagicBands, Disney Gift Cards, or any other form of Disney stored value cards (like Disney Dining Cards) as payment.
Advance Dining Reservations
While Il Mulino offers advance dining reservations (ADRs), Il Mulino Lounge does not. So, if you’re planning to stop by only the lounge for drinks and light bites, you won’t need to worry about making a reservation, as none are offered.
Like many bars and lounges across Disney World, Il Mulino Lounge can get busy during peak hours – such as late afternoon, early evening, and later in the evening on weekends. Since you can’t reserve a table, you may want to plan your visit around these times to avoid a wait.
Is Il Mulino Lounge Kid-Friendly?
Il Mulino Lounge is a bit more laid back than the restaurant itself, but it is a bar – which means it’s not the most kid-friendly option for dinner or light bites. It is a bar at Disney World, which means it’s more kid-friendly than most, and the full dinner menu does offer a lot of food options. But I personally would skip Il Mulino Lounge with kids under 10.
A fancier bar like Il Mulino Lounge likely isn’t the best choice if you have very young kids (like toddlers and preschoolers) who are picky eaters or who have trouble sitting still during mealtime in restaurants. The seating is a mix of bar stools, couches, and a few traditional tables, so keeping little ones comfortable (and still) is a challenge, and the atmosphere is undeniably more adult than a sit-down restaurant.
It’s doable, but if all of the adults are hoping for a relaxed pre-drinner drink or an elevated meal, I suggest saving this spot until your kids are older.
