Are you curious about what it’s like to ride the Tower of Terror at Disneyland Paris? We’re sharing the fast facts and everything to know about the ride.

Are you ready for a trip to the Twilight Zone? The iconic Tower of Terror attraction has its own iteration at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris, with a similar concept and theme to the current Hollywood Studios version in Florida. The Paris version first opened in 2007 and is designed to look more like the version that existed at Disney California Adventure (that one has since been reimagined to Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!).

Tower of Terror Fast Facts

  • Location: Production Courtyard at Walt Disney Studios Park
  • Height Requirement: 40 inches/1.02 meters
  • Attraction Length: About 3.5 minutes
  • Disney Premier Access: Yes
  • Ride Type: Drop ride

Queue

Similar to the queue for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the ride takes you through a departure terminal, meant to resemble a spaceport. You’ll spot droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, and overhear flight announcements before boarding your own ride vehicle for the adventure to begin.

Accessibility

The front row of the attraction is accessisble to those using a wheelchair or mobility device through a step-free front row. However, it will require you to transfer from your wheelchair to a seat. Due to its extreme natural, the ride is not recommend for pregnant people or those with motion sensitivity.

On-Ride Photo

There is an on-ride photo that takes place as you wait for one of your final drops.

Is the Tower of Terror Kid-Friendly?

Between its spooky backstory and its high-octane thrills, this ride is likely too intense for younger riders. Even if you have a kid who loves thrill rides, you may want to consider how sensitive they are to scares in advance, as the pre-show and queue set to the stage for a rather dark and ominous backstory.

For any age that’s tall enough to ride, you’ll also want to consider the intensity. This is one of the more intense thrill rides in the parks, with huge freefall drops that even some adults may not be a fan of.

Ultimately, you know your kids best, but these are considerations you’ll want to take when considering whether they’re ready to step into the Twilight Zone.

Best For: Teenagers and older who love thrill rides

Will the Tower of Terror Cause Motion Sickness?

If you are someone who is highly sensitive to motion, especially drops, then you will definitely have an issue with this ride. Your ride vehicle is pulled up and down, causing some intense freefalls followed quickly by a fast-moving upward projection. If major thrills turn your stomach, this may be one you want to skip out on.
