Strolling down the walking path to EPCOT, you find yourself in a strange land without a palm tree in sight. Here at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort you are in a world themed after a classic New England seaside resort, from the foliage all the way down to the dining options, making for a classy, grown-up environment. Welcome to Ale & Compass, home of classic American dining with an emphasis on seafood that is both delicious and deceptively simple.

Ale & Compass Location

Ale & Compass is a table service restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The decor is simple, perhaps a little muted, and there is little evidence on display that you are even at Disney World. The restaurant is described as “a coastal-inspired restaurant that’s reminiscent of a cozy lighthouse.” I have not been to a large number of lighthouses, but “cozy” is not a word I would use to describe any of them, nor is “like the Ale & Compass”. It makes the atmosphere seem a little like an afterthought.

This may give the impression that the Ale & Compass is more formal and adult-oriented than might be best for family groups, but nothing could be further from the truth. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, and the kids’ menu works hard to make sure young diners can pick what they like, which is a huge plus for families with littles.

Advance Dining Reservations

Ale & Compass is a popular restaurant serving a number of resorts that make up the EPCOT Resort Area. If you plan to visit, you should plan on making an advance dining reservation (ADR) before visiting.

Like most table-service restaurants across the parks and resorts, reservations for Ale & Compass can book quickly at the 60-day mark. As soon as your dining wish list solidifies, we recommend making your dining reservations for all table service restaurants you hope to visit.

Is Ale & Compass Kid-Friendly?

Ale & Compass is welcoming for guests of all ages, however the dearth of Disney theming also eliminates one level of distraction while waiting for your food to arrive. Once your food is on the table, the overall quality should fully occupy your younger diners. The mix-and-match approach to Kids’ dining options helps to prevent any fuss from picky eaters, but the overall vibe leans a little toward a grown-up environment.
