Disney World is constantly changing, with new updates to classic rides alongside completely original lands and attractions. And 2025 is no exception, with plenty of updates and new entertainment planned for the resort! We’re sharing everything you need to know about what’s coming to Walt Disney World in 2025 and beyond.

New Disney World Attractions and Additions in 2025

From a new parade to updated rides, there is a lot to look forward to in Disney World in 2025. Here’s a full list of what you can expect from the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

  • Opening Date: Summer 2025

A new nighttime parade is coming to Magic Kingdom, called Disney Starlight. The nighttime show will be hosted by the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, who will weave “teh magic of starlight” throughout each float and costume. You’ll see characters from films like Peter Pan, Encanto, and Frozen.  

Zootopia: Better Zoogether

  • Opening Date: November 7, 2025
  • Construction: Ongoing

A new show themed to Zootopia will take over for It’s Tough to Be a Bug! at the Tree of Life Theater in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Zootopia: Better Zoogether will be a Zootopia-themed show with characters like Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The show is planned for winter 2025.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

  • Opening Date: Now open
  • Construction: Complete

A new show will take over for Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which has been unavailable since 2020. The new stage show will open in the summer of 2025. with songs including “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World,” plus two new-to-this-theater musical numbers, “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl.”

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

A new Disney Villains show is taking the previous home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. Opening in the summer of 2025, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will transform the theater into the realm of the Magic Mirror, where guests can expect appearances from characters such as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.

Reimagined Test Track

  • Opening Date: Now open

In June 2024, Test Track closed for a lengthy refurbishment. When it reopens in late summer 2025, the newest iteration of Test Track will have different vehicles and a new show scene showing some of the technological updates that have been made for automobiles.

Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

An all-new tavern themed to Pirates of the Caribbean will open at Magic Kingdom in 2025. At D23 Brazil 2024, Disney revealed a new look at what guests will find inside and that there will be some special surprises that Pirates fans will love.

  • Opening Date: Now open

A new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern is planned for Adventureland in Magic Kingdom! Coming in late 2025, the tavern will be a family-friendly spot with food and drinks, with some “mysterious and magical surprises” teased!

Spaceship Earth Lounge

  • Opening Date: Now open

A new Spaceship Earth lounge will come to EPCOT in late spring 2025. Described as an elevated lounge, the decor will be honoring the history of Spaceship Earth and EPCOT, celebrating their legacies and future. The lounge will serve food and drinks, and offer views of World Celebration Gardens, as well as a unique perspective of the fireworks!

New Disney World Attractions Beyond 2025

Looking beyond 2025, there are a few new additions (some major ones, in fact) that will be arriving at the parks in the years ahead. These are especially important to look at when it comes to construction, as breaking ground will mean the closure of some current attractions.

New Cars Land

  • Opening Date: TBA
  • Construction: Ongoing

A new Cars expansion is coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. The land will include two new Cars rides, taking over the area where Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are located. The land will feature one ride for younger guests, and another larger ride that’s a rally race through the mountains. The land will begin construction in 2025.

Villains Land

  • Opening Date: TBA
  • Construction: TBA

Described as being located “beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” this major expansion will be a land themed to the Disney Villains. The new land will include two major attractions, shopping, and dining. No construction or opening date have been shared yet.

Tropical Americas Land

  • Opening Date: 2027
  • Construction: Ongoing

A new Tropical Americas land called Pueblo Esperanza will be coming to the current area where DinoLand, U.S.A. is located. The land will include an original Indiana Jones ride (taking the place of DINOSAUR) and a new Encanto ride inside a replica of the Casita. The land will also be home to a large wooden carousel, and one of the biggest quick-service restaurants at Disney World.

Construction begins in phases, with Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures and Fossil Fun Games closing permanently on January 13, 2025. DINOSAUR and Restaurantasarus will remain open until February 2, 2026.

Monsters, Inc. Land

  • Construction: Ongoing

In a move no one saw coming, it was revealed at D23 that a new Monsters, Inc. land is planned for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Construction will begin in 2025, though no projected timeline (or placement in the park) has been revealed. The new land will be home to a roller coaster inspired by the hanging doors in the film, the first-ever suspended coaster at a Disney Park.
