EPCOT Festival of the Arts: A Complete Guide for Families

by | Jan 7, 2026 | Disney with Kids, EPCOT, World Celebration, World Showcase

The EPCOT Festival of the Arts is one of four festivals that takes place annually at EPCOT (the others being the Flower and Garden Festival, Food and Wine Festival, and Festival of the Holidays). Each festival comes with its own distinct theme, and for the Festival of the Arts that is, as you may expect, art! Specifically, you’ll find representations of culinary, visual, and performing arts.

The next EPCOT Festival of the Arts will take place from January 16 through February 23, 2026.

EPCOT Festival of the Arts Overview

The EPCOT Festival of the Arts typically takes place for seven weeks from January through February, making it one of the two shorter festivals (the other being the Festival of the Holidays). The festival is included in the cost of your admission to EPCOT, meaning visiting the park will give you access to the entertainment happening at the festival. However, the food, merchandise, and other activities are going to be an additional cost.

EPCOT Festival of the Arts Entertainment

Along with a celebration of culinary arts, the Festival of the Arts focuses on visual and performing arts. With that in mind, there are tons of different entertainment options. Here’s a full list of everything that you can expect!

  • Animation Academy: Throughout the day, head over to the American Garden Theatre where a real animation artist gives lessons on how to draw a Disney character (not unlike the Animation Academy permanent fixture at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!).
  • Artful Photo Ops: Around World Showcase, you can take special photo ops inside your favorite art pieces by artists like Leonardo da Vinci or Edvard Munch. 2025 included a new chance to pose with Moana!
  • Figment’s Brush with the Master’s: A special scavenger hunt where you can find Figment around Word Showcase. Purchase a map at select locations, and mark off each location as you find it. Once completed, head back to the store for a prize.
  • Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine: In your Festival Passport, you’ll find specific foods for the Wonderful Walk of Cuisine. When you purchase these, grab a stamp from a Cast Member, and once completed you can turn in your passport for a unique treat.
  • Expression Selection: A Paint by Numbers Mural: Another type of artistic expression is located by World Nature, where you can help other guests complete a giant mural. Along a wall, you’ll find Paint by Numbers. You’ll be handed a pot of numbered paint and brush, and can fill in the corresponding numbers to help create a collaborative image.
  • Art Defying Gravity: At various times throughout the day, you can enjoy aerial acrobatic performances. Check your My Disney Experience app for your daily showtimes.
  • Chalk Art: Near the bridge to World Showcase Plaza, look out for chalk artists drawing stunning work.
  • Chalk Full of Characters: In each World Showcase pavilion, keep an eye out for a chalk-drawn Disney character hiding about!
  • Festival Marketplaces: Throughout World Showcase, you’ll find booths where you can purchase artwork from a variety of talented artists.
  • DISNEY ON BROADWAY: Enjoy performances from Broadway performers singing Disney tunes over at the American Gardens Theater, with different singers visiting throughout the festival.
  • Visual Art in Performance: Watch visual artists paint your favorite Disney characters in real time. Check My Disney Experience for details and times.
  • Disney on Broadway Exhibit: Over at CommuniCore Hall, you’ll find a walkthrough exhibit celebrating 30 years of Disney on Broadway. You’ll find costumes, props, and more behind-the-scenes looks from shows such as Aladdin and The Lion King.

Is the EPCOT Festival of the Arts Kid-Friendly?

While all of the EPCOT festivals have plenty for kids to enjoy, the Festival of the Arts has some particularly kid-friendly activities for all ages. The entertainment is at the top of the list, with the Chalk Full of Characters, Art Defying Gravity, and Disney on Broadway all options that will interest young kids to teenagers.

The food is also fun, especially younger kids. Even picky eaters may find themselves intrigued by grilled cheese with tomato soup served out of a can, or a cake perfectly shaped as a rose. The artwork and entertainment provide quite a few interactive opportunities, making this a festival where you’ll find plenty to do throughout a full day in the park.
