While many attractions at Walt Disney World welcome guests of all ages and heights, some of the more thrilling attractions come with specific height requirements. Whether it’s a maximum height or a minimum height, we’ll be sharing your guide to all of the height requirements you need to know as you’re planning your Disney vacation.

Disney World Height Requirements

As you plan your Disney World vacation, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with these height requirements to ensure a smooth experience. These rules are strictly enforced to guarantee the safety of all riders. We’ll guide you through the height requirements for rides at the four major theme parks, as well as the two water parks. Jump ahead to a section below!

Magic Kingdom Ride Height Requirements

The majority of Magic Kingdom attractions don’t have height requirements. This means guests of any heart or age can ride of experience these attractions. Hwoever, just because a child’s height allows them to ride an attraction, it doesn’t necessarily mean the content is going to be suitable for all. An example is Haunted Mansion, which has no height requirement but may be a bit scary for younger riders. Disney World Height Requirements and Rider Switch

So, what do you do if someone in your group doesn’t meet the height requirement for a ride? You can take advantage of Rider Switch (also known as rider swap or child swap). This service at Disney Parks lets guests with small children take turns riding attractions with height requirements without having to wait in line twice.

To use Rider Switch, speak to a Cast Member at the entrance of the ride and inform them you’d like to use the service. They will issue a Rider Switch pass, either as a physical pass or digitally linked to your MagicBand. The first group can then wait in line and enjoy the attraction while the second adult stays with the child who doesn’t meet the height requirement. Once the first group finishes the ride, the waiting adult can then ride without having to queue again.
