For the first time since 2019, both Disney World water parks will be open at the same time this summer from May to September.
Disney has shared some news that will make Disney World water park fans very happy. Since 2019, Disney has alternated opening dates for its two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach has been open from late fall through early spring, with Typhoon Lagoon open from spring through summer. But that’s going to change for 2025 with the latest announcement from Disney.
Disney World Water Parks Open at the Same Time
From May 21 through September 7, both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks will be open at the same time. Typhoon Lagoon will officially open for the season on May 1, with Blizzard Beach closed temporarily May 1 through May 20. But, on May 21, both water parks will open, making it the first time since 2019 that all six Disney World parks (four theme parks and two water parks) will be open.
The timing couldn’t be better because, throughout 2025, Disney World Resort hotel guests get a special water park perk. Throughout 2025, Guests of Disney World Resort hotels can get free water park admission on their arrival day for everyone in their party on the reservation. Starting May 21, they will get their choice of water parks, with the ability to choose either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.
And on select nights from May 23 to September 13, Disney will also offer H2O Glow After Hours at Typhoon Lagoon. The after-hours event includes complimentary snacks, Toy Story characters, a dance party, and shorter wait times. Tickets are $85 for adults (with a discount for Passholders and DVC members), or $42.50 for kids.
