Disney Jr. has revealed new Cars and Avengers series have both been greenlight for the pre-school-aged channel from Disney.

Any parent of pre-school-aged kids has probably become quite familiar with Disney Jr., a Disney network that features stories aimed at kids two to five. And now, the channel has announced two new series coming to the network.

New Cars and Avengers Series Coming to Disney Jr.

Disney Jr. has unveiled its upcoming slate, which includes the greenlight of two new series, according to Deadline. Cars: Lightning Racers will be inspired by the Cars franchise, with the film’s original cast returning to reprise their roles. Additionally, Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends will be the first-ever preschool Avengers series.

The new series were both announced by Ayo Davis, President, Disney Branded Television, at the Disney Jr. Let’s Play! fan event at Disney California Adventure Park. Cars: Lightning Racers will follow Lightning McQueen as he gears up for new adventures in Radiator Springs. He’ll appear alongside Mater and new friends, such as drag car Pipe and monster truck Miles. The films’ original cast members returning to reprise their roles include Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks, and John Ratzenberger as Mack.

Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends comes from the new Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends (which will premiere August 11). The new series will introduce kid versions of the Avengers, including Iron Man (Tony Stark), Captain America (Steve Rogers), Hulk (Bruce Banner), Black Panther (T’Challa), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff), and Thor. Together, the young Avengers strive to be their best selves while facing off against classic Super Baddies.’

Both Cars: Lightning Racers and Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends will premiere in 2027 on Disney Jr., then Disney+.
