Carnation Cafe is a Disneyland institution, one that dates back to 1955 – and today, it’s still a favorite of many guests. The former ice cream parlor turned table-service restaurant serves the kind of food you’d expect to find on Main Street, U.S.A., with plenty of American comfort food.

One of the big draws of Carnation Cafe? It’s home to some of Walt Disney’s own favorite dishes, including bowls of chili, meatloaf, and more.

Carnation Cafe Location

You’ll find Carnation Cafe right on Main Street, right next door to Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. If you’re headed towards Sleeping Beauty Castle, it’ll be on your left.

Carnation Cafe Menu

Carnation Cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, though the restaurant’s lunch and dinner menus are the same. All of the dishes are nostalgic, offering a taste of classic American fare you’d find in the Midwest where Walt himself grew up.

When it comes to kid-friendly fare, the menu here is a treat for picky eaters with staples they’ll love for breakfast and afternoon or evening meals. Even the adult options are comforting classics, making it easy to find something for kids both young and older.

Advance Dining Reservations

You can make advance dining reservations (ADRs) at Carnation Cafe, and it’s highly recommended that you do so ahead of your visit. This restaurant is a favorite among many guests, and it’s often in high demand.

While walk-up tables can be available during less crowded times of the year, Carnation Cafe reservations do tend to disappear quickly at the 60-day window. So, you’ll want to make these reservations early, if you can.

Is Carnation Cafe Kid-Friendly?

Carnation Cafe is absolutely a kid-friendly place to dine inside Disneyland Park. Featuring both indoor and outdoor seating areas right along Main Street, it’s always a bustling place – meaning there’s no need to worry about noise levels while you dine or somewhat restless little ones.

The turn-of-the-century theming might make Carnation Cafe feel a bit fancy, but this table-service spot is quite welcoming for families. The hearty comfort food will please kids and adults alike (and there’s plenty on the menu for picky eaters), while the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to handle all of your kids’ needs while dining.

Plus, if you’re dining outside, it’s easy to entertain young kids with people-watching as guests travel up and down Main Street. With easy access in and out of the dining area, you can also make a quick getaway – or take kids on a quick stroll through the nearby stores – if needed, should anyone get restless or cranky.
