The GCH Craftsman Bar might look just like a fancier version of your average poolside bar, but it’s actually one of Disneyland Resort’s hidden gems. With reasonably-priced food, interesting options tailored to adults’ tastes, and a great view, this table-service restaurant is a great place to dine (and rarely crowded!).
Wondering what the difference is between the GCH Craftsman Grill and the very similarly-named GCH Craftsman Bar? While the bar is a table-service restaurant, the grill is a quick-service restaurant with grab-and-go food.
GCH Craftsman Bar Location
The GCH Craftsman Bar is located inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It’s next to the resort’s pool, past Napa Rose and across from Tenaya Stone Spa.
If you’re entering the hotel from California Adventure, the restaurant is just a few steps away to your left.
GCH Craftsman Bar Menu
The GCH Craftsman Bar is, at its heart, a bar. But there’s a surprisingly large menu of food options here – and you can dine here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
While there is a true bar at this table-service restaurant, the various seating areas (including those right next to the pool) offer the chance to lounge and enjoy a sit-down meal. The architecture is inspired by the Craftsman movement, just like the hotel itself, and the food features plenty of California ingredients and inspirations.
The items on the menu at GCH Craftsman Bar are a bit elevated, with slightly fancier twists – think Parmesan-crusted Grilled Cheese instead of basic grilled cheese, for example – so there are options for eaters both picky and adventurous.

Advance Dining Reservations
Though its atmosphere is casual and there are almost always tables available, the GCH Craftsman Bar does accept advance dining reservations (ADRs).
This restaurant is rarely so jam-packed that walk-up spots are completely out of the question, but it can happen – especially on Friday and Saturday nights. We suggest making reservations just in case, ensuring you can grab a table with the family since kids aren’t welcome right up at the bar.
Is GCH Craftsman Bar Kid-Friendly?
In terms of Disneyland bars, the GCH Craftsman Bar is pretty kid-friendly. There are numerous options on the menu for kids of all ages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the food is nicely hearty. Plus, it really caters to picky eaters with options like Mickey Waffles, grilled cheese, and chicken tenders.
The outdoor setting also feels very family-friendly, since parents don’t have to worry about noisy kids or little ones who are wiggly and want to move around.
Just be warned, though: This restaurant is literally poolside, with tables on the “lower level” just steps away from the Grand Californian Hotel’s pool. You don’t want to let your kids run freely here, especially if you’re dining with unpredictable toddlers or young kids who may make a beeline for the water. I recommend asking if you can dine in the more fenced-off upper seating area (which is shaded, too!) for a bit of added peace of mind.
