About Disneyland Dining Reservations

Disneyland dining reservations are just like the reservations you’d make at any other restaurant. They reserve a table for the number of guests in your party at a designated time of your choosing. 

While dining reservations are often called “advance dining reservations” or ADRs at Walt Disney World Resort, the language is slightly different at Disneyland. Here, they’re just dining reservations – no abbreviation needed.

You can make a Disneyland dining reservation at any table-service restaurant within Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, and the hotels of Disneyland Resort.

When Can You Make Disneyland Dining Reservations?

You can make dining reservations at any of Disneyland’s table-service restaurants starting 60 days prior to your arrival date. 

You’re able to book reservations when the new booking window opens up at 6:00 AM (Pacific time) at the 60-day mark. Disneyland will typically release all newly available dining reservations at this time daily.

However, it’s worth noting that sometimes, reservations do not go live at 6:00 AM and are still unavailable when the 60-day booking window opens for a given date or restaurant. Reservations do disappear fast as soon as they appear online, so you’ll want to log on early and be ready to book in-demand restaurants for your trip.

 In some cases, restaurant availability will open up after the 60-day mark – so it’s always a good idea to continue checking back if you aren’t able to get a reservation immediately.

Who Needs to Make Dining Reservations at Disneyland?

Anyone who’d like to eat at a table-service restaurant should plan to make dining reservations at Disneyland. Disney highly recommends making reservations at any and all Disneyland restaurants that offer them, as these dining spots are always in high demand.

However, you don’t always need a reservation to dine at a table-service restaurant. While reservations are incredibly popular and are a must-have for Disneyland’s most popular restaurants – like Blue Bayou and Lamplight Lounge – it really depends on when you’re visiting, the crowd levels, and where you’re hoping to dine.

Some restaurants, typically those in Downtown Disney, often have same-day reservations available. But it’s always better to secure a dining reservation in advance, because you never know when spots will disappear as your trip draws nearer. 

How to Make a Disneyland Dining Reservation

There are two ways you can make a Disneyland dining reservation: visit the Disneyland website or use the Disneyland app.

Here’s how to make a reservation using either method.

Make a Reservation on the Disneyland Website

1. Visit the official Disneyland website: Head to the Disneyland website (www.disneyland.disney.go.com).
2. Navigate to Things to Do: From here, click Make Reservations
3. Sign into your account: If you already have a Disney account, sign in. If not, you’ll need to create one before you go any further.
4. Enter your information: You’ll need to input the number of guests in your party (including infants), choose the date or date range of your visit, and select a timeframe (you can browse all reservations or opt for one of the three timeframes).
5. Browse the available options: A list of all available reservations for your party size and chosen date (or date range) will be displayed. Review the options and make your selection.
6. Confirm your reservation: Follow the prompts to confirm and officially book your Disneyland dining reservation.
7. Check your reservation details: Once you’ve successfully made a reservation, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Double-check that email to ensure all of the information is correct.

Make a Reservation in the Disneyland App

The Disneyland app utilizes the same platform as the Disneyland website for dining reservations. In fact, if you try to make a reservation in-app, the website will open up and ask you to log in.

Here’s how to find the dining reservation options inside the Disneyland app:

1. Click the + sign at the bottom of your screen: A menu will appear, and you’ll want to choose Check Dining Availability.
2. Log into your Disney account: From here, the steps will take you through the website booking process to find and secure a dining reservation.
3. Follow steps 4 through 7 above.

Canceling Disneyland Dining Reservations

If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation, you can do so – but keep in mind there is a window in which you’ll need to do so.

Disneyland dining reservations can be canceled up to two hours before your reservation. If you do not cancel by that 2-hour window, you may be charged a per-person cancellation fee.

So, if you have a reservation at 1:00 PM, you’ll need to cancel it by 10:00 AM on the day of the reservation.
