Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

by | Nov 1, 2024 | Dining, Disneyland, Mobile Order, Quick-Service Restaurants

Step inside Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo on Batuu at Disneyland Park that’s part spacecraft hangar, part delicious dining spot. This quick-service restaurant is themed after a working hangar bay, meaning you’ll find touches of cargo, planet-hopping travels, and even exotic finds from across the galaxy everywhere inside.

According to the restaurant’s backstory, Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs creates a menu of dishes from ingredients sourced from across the galaxy, with exotic offerings and unusual flavors. The food here is quite different from most Disneyland dining spots, but it’s a favorite among Batuu visitors.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Location

Docking Bay 7 is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, right across the walkway from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities and to the left (and up some stairs) of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Menu

You can stop by Docking Bay 7 for lunch and dinner daily. Keep in mind that the menu is highly themed, so you’ll want to pay attention to the descriptions versus the more exotic and Star Wars-sounding entrée names.

When it comes to flavors and options for kids, there are dishes even picky eaters will likely be willing to try. However, you may want to dine elsewhere if you’re looking for staples like chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese (though this is included as a side!), or plain pasta.

Take a look at what you’ll find on the Docking Bay 7 menu below.

  • Endorian Roasted Chicken Salad
  • Fried Chicken Baos

  • Fried Chicken Tip Yip Youngling Meal

Advance Dining Reservations

Since Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a quick-service restaurant, you cannot make advance dining reservations (ADRs) here.

This is one of the few dining options within Galaxy’s Edge, so it can get quite busy during peak dining times. Luckily, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo does offer Mobile Order in the Disneyland app. It’s a smart way to place your order ahead of time and skip the line, or use it to wait elsewhere during peak meal times (and pick up at your chosen convenience).

Is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Kid-Friendly?

When it comes to theming and food, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo isn’t the most kid-friendly quick-service restaurant you can choose inside Disneyland. However, it’s not exactly not kid-friendly, either.

The big issue here is the menu. Featuring intergalactic specials that truly do seem foreign to kids who are picky eaters or simply don’t understand what they might be ordering, the dishes skew adult in flavor profiles and ingredients.

However, there are a couple of kids’ meals available – including Tip Yip, a fried chicken (with macaroni and cheese) dinner. These should satisfy most palates, but the Star Wars-inspired presentation can be surprising for little diners.

In terms of theming, tweens and teens will love the cargo bay-inspired theming and cool touches that give nods to plenty of stories from the Star Wars universe. Younger kids, however, won’t pick up on these awesome details.

So, while there’s no need to worry about kids’ manners or table-service level etiquette at Docking Bay 7, when it comes to the exciting Easter eggs and references tucked into every corner of Batuu and this quick-service spot, kids likely won’t appreciate them as much as older diners.
