Step inside Cafe Orleans, an inviting sidewalk café, and you’ll feel like you’ve entered a true New Orleans restaurant. Here, you’ll find Cajun- and Creole-inspired dishes and plenty of history, right down to the table-service restaurant’s original espresso machine where Walt himself once made his morning coffee.

While there’s plenty to love about Cafe Orleans from the theming inspired by The Princess and the Frog to the classic gumbo, guests undeniably head here for one particular menu item: the Monte Cristo sandwich, a Disneyland icon in its own right.

Cafe Orleans Location

Head to New Orleans Square, and you’ll find Cafe Orleans situated in the center of the land. It’s just across the walkway from Royal Street Veranda on one side and Tiana’s Palace on the other.

Cafe Orleans Menu

Cafe Orleans is open for both lunch and dinner service, but the menu remains the same no matter when you dine (so yes, that means that Monte Cristo is always available!). With both indoor and outdoor tables, you’ll feel like you’re dining streetside in the true heart of New Orleans, even though you’re in Disneyland.

With Cajun and Creole dishes on the menu, this table-service spot is particularly popular with adults. However, kids will find plenty to enjoy, too. While the kids’ menu here leans a little fancier, staples like chicken and mac and cheese still make it picky eater-friendly.

Advance Dining Reservations

Disney highly recommends making advance dining reservations (ADRs) for any Disneyland table-service restaurant, and Cafe Orleans is no exception. You’ll want to make sure to grab a reservation ahead of your visit, as walk-up spots are very limited.

However, Cafe Orleans isn’t too difficult to get a reservation for. Unless you’re visiting during especially crowded times of the year, you should be able to get a dining reservation here even for last-minute park visits.

Is Cafe Orleans Kid-Friendly?

When it comes to the menu and atmosphere, Cafe Orleans is a pretty kid-friendly restaurant. It isn’t too elevated in its environment (meaning you don’t have to worry about elegant table settings or the best table behavior), and thanks to its sidewalk-ish location, noise isn’t too concerning.

However, keep in mind that the food here isn’t super tailored to picky eaters, and the restaurant does serve slightly fancier fare than other table-service spots. The kids’ menu features short rib, for example – not a favorite of most kids – and may be a little too elevated for some. 

That being said, if you’re worried about dining at Cafe Orleans with kids, know that there’s no restaurant inside Disneyland Park that’s too fancy for them. They’ll easily be able to find food they like, and parents too can enjoy their meals here.
