Board a rocket ship and blast off to outer space on Space Mountain, a high-speed, indoor roller coaster that takes place mostly in the dark. You won’t see much on this Disneyland Park thrill ride, but you will encounter sharp turns, sudden drops, and plenty of fast-moving surprises.

This classic steel coaster seats riders in pairs of two, adding a bit of a twist (and a higher top speed) compared to its Disney World counterpart.

Is Space Mountain Kid-Friendly?

Space Mountain isn’t an attraction you’ll want to ride with little kids – but it’s perfect for older tweens and teens who are ready for some thrills.

Kids will need to meet the height requirement before they can ride, and they’ll want to be prepared for a dark coaster with no track visibility. However, compared to many other thrill rides (like the Incredicoaster), it’s smooth and relatively tame albeit fast.

Best For: Tweens and teens who love fast thrill rides with unexpected drops, twists, and turns.

Will Space Mountain Cause Motion Sickness?

Because Hyperspace Mountain is a high-speed roller coaster with some drops and corkscrew-like turns, it may cause motion sickness.
