Both a mode of transportation around the park and a slow-moving ride up the water park’s iconic peak, Mount Gushmore, the Chairlift at Blizzard Beach is one of the central attractions. It doesn’t offer any thrills, but it is a handy way to get from the base of the water park up to some of its most exciting attractions.

Is Blizzard Beach’s Chairlift Kid-Friendly?
As long as you’re visiting with kids who stand at least 32 inches tall, the Chairlift at Blizzard Beach is pretty kid-friendly. It’s not the most thrilling ride – it is, after all, designed to be a faster form of transportation to get from the ground level up Mount Gushmore – but it can be cool for school-age kids and tweens to check out the lay of the land.
If your kids have a fear of heights, however, the Chairlift may be a bit scary. In that case, you’ll be better off walking up Mount Gushmore on foot.
Best For: Older kids who aren’t afraid of heights and want a bird’s-eye view of Blizzard Beach.
Will Blizzard Beach’s Chairlift Cause Motion Sickness?
The Chairlift shouldn’t cause any motion sickness. It functions just like any other chairlift, with steady seats and little to no rocking motion.
