The Best Salad Ever – Hoop Dee Doo Review

Dad is not real big on eating green stuff. Green is not the true color of food. But the salad at the Hoop Dee Doo Review was the best salad I ever ate.

Food at the Hoop Dee Doo Review

Here's what's on the table when you arrive

Yes, it’s a basic, no frills salad. No fancy Swiss Chard or Ridicchio or any of the other fancy stuff they put into salads today. This salad has iceberg lettuce, Roma tomatoes, red onions and cucumbers all bathed in a tangy italian dressing.

I was seated next to a beautiful blond, who ignored me completely for most of the evening. Our server, Bob the Dyslexic Optimist (his words not mine) came by and took our drink orders and invited us to dig in, but warned us not to eat right out of the pail. I love cornbread, so I cut off a chunk and dug in.

Side note, if you go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review by yourself, you get your own pail of everything. Each party had at least one pail of everything and I got a full one of everything all by myself. (Seemed a little wasteful, but I wasn’t complaining.)

I was a little reluctant to try the salad. I’m not a big salad eater, and figured I’d try it just so I could report to you and then move on to the real food coming later. So I took the very heavy utensils and daintily served up a dollop of salad. It took a bite, and another, and another then I greedily filled up my plate with salad.

Wow, it was good. If I could have that dressing on it I’d eat salad every day. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The tomatoes were flavorful and burst when I bit into them. (The tomatoes were the small little ones you can eat in one bite.) The onion added just the right amount of bite and the cucumber was fresh. But what made it the Best Salad  Ever was the dressing. It was just perfect.

The only problem with the salad was it was the only thing we had to eat for the first 30 minutes or so. I’m glad I didn’t wait.

For Mrs. Mom – the beautiful blond was 4.
