Magical Christmas Memories Week: Animal Kingdom

For the next week at Dad’s Blog, we are celebrating the holidays with Magical Christmas Memories Week!  Each day we’ll feature a personal story from our team of their magical holiday memories at Walt Disney World!  We hope you’ll share yours with us too, in the comments below or over on our Facebook page!

Animal Kingdom may not be everybody’s first park of choice to visit during the Christmas season, but there are many fantastic reasons to be here at this time of the year.  Arguably the best reason to head to this park instead of the others is to avoid those massive crowds that you can see elsewhere in WDW!

On our Facebook page, we asked our fans to talk about any special experiences they’ve had at Animal Kingdom around the holidays.  Let’s take a look at some of their stories…

Natalie Richards: At animal kingdom right now waiting for safari. Christmas decorations & themed ears, hats, etc. Other parks are more Christmas themed.

Catherine Smith: We came to Disney for Christmas last year and decided to spend Christmas Day at Animal Kingdom, it seemed the park that was the best option as the others were so crazy. Had a great day as always.

Deanna McCormack: We usually go at Christmas but were there this June this year and the entrance looked so weird without the big tree! I love the characters in their Christmas sweaters but my favorite thing was always the Jingle Jungle Parade. I was hoping those floats would make it over to MK. Hope they can find a way to reinstate it after the construction

Stacey Jackson: My husband has a work conference each year in Orlando, so we always tag along and stay at Disney so that we can have transportation while he is working. 3 years ago we were fortunate that a conference landed us in Orlando in December. We usually spent our days at the resort when my husband had to be away for work. This was our 3rd trip to Disney…and I finally got up the nerve to do a park on my own–just me and my 3 year old. We had the best day–just nice and easy at our own pace and doing things that my son would like.

Have you ever had a magical experience at Animal Kingdom around Christmastime?  If so, please tell us all about it below!
