Journey Into Imagination with Figment

Disney tried to ruin Journey to Imagination with Figment about a few years ago. It was sad. They did away with the number one character in all of EPCOT. EPCOT really doesn’t have a mascot. It’s pretty devoid of marketable characters. Figment is the only really “cute and cuddly” character in the whole park.

What is EPCOT without the cute little blue dragon? Let me tell you, it was more plastic that it is now. It only took 2 years, but Disney did come to their senses and put Figment back into the ride. Figment is now the star of the show. (Sorry, Dr. Channing.)

Journey Into Imagination

Step into the omnimover and go from scene to scene looking in on how imagination impacts the 5 senses. There is a room for each.

Fun Facts

Here are some interesting tidbits –

  • If your wondering where you’ve seen Dr. Nigel Channing, he’s none other that Eric Idle of Monte Python fame (Dad just loves the Monte Python references).

This attraction first opened in EPCOT in 1983.

  • There have been 3 versions. Version 2 did not include Figment. It didn’t last very long.

Dad’s Bottom Line

This is one of those borderline rides. Figment is cute and the ride is decent, but it is missable, especially if you’ve seen it before. (Yes, that is only Dad’s opinion, you’re entitled to your own.)
