Frozen Ever After clearly had some pretty big shoes to fill as Maelstrom‘s replacement—and it delivered perfectly!
Since its opening on June 21, 2016, Frozen Ever After instantly became my personal favorite attraction in the park. With its cutting-edge audio-animatronics, classic Disney dark ride style, and subtle nods to Maelstrom (see my Puffins picture below!), it has everything I hoped for in this attraction (and more).
Frozen Ever After is located in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase. It typically has one of the longest standby wait times (if not the longest) of any attraction in the park. As with many of WDW’s most popular attractions, I recommend hopping into the queue at rope drop (bright and early ahead of the park’s opening in the morning) or at the very end of the night (just before park closing).

The hype for this attraction (in my opinion) is well-deserved. As you can see in the full ride through video above, you start by boarding a Viking-themed boat, proceed to spot Olaf, Sven and the rest of the gang, and even get to watch Elsa perform “Let It Go” in the most mind-blowing way imaginable. Complete with a fun drop at the end (and even an on-ride photo), Frozen Ever After is sure to be a bona fide highlight of your family’s EPCOT visits time and time again.

History
Until October 5, 2015, this space was occupied by the Maelstrom attraction. The ride was not gutted and rebuilt for Frozen Ever After, but rather renovated to include an all new story, state of the art show elements, and fabulous songs.
