Earl of Sandwich

by | Oct 29, 2024 | Dining, Disneyland, Downtown Disney, Quick-Service Restaurants

Earl of Sandwich bills itself as “The World’s Greatest Hot Sandwich!” and to be honest, this quick-service restaurant does serve some of the most delicious sandwiches ever created. It specializes in a signature roast beef made with hearth-baked bread, but you really can’t go wrong with anything from its selection of standout sandwiches, soups, salads, and more.

Earl of Sandwich Location

Earl of Sandwich is currently the first building of the Downtown Disney District you’ll encounter as you leave Disneyland or California Adventure and head toward the trams. It sits right across from the water fountain, not too far from California Churro.

Note: Earl of Sandwich’s current location is only a temporary one. This location is scheduled to close eventually, when the restaurant moves into a two-story building deeper into Downtown Disney.

Earl of Sandwich Menu

Earl of Sandwich serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and yes, that means you can have sandwiches first thing in the morning. While the breakfast menu is the slimmest of the day, you can pick up sizable, satisfying sandwiches and other items all day long.

Advance Dining Reservations

Since Earl of Sandwich is a quick-service restaurant, advance dining reservations (ADRs) aren’t offered. You’ll have to walk up and place your order when you’re ready to dine and find a seat yourself.

There is currently a table-service concept operating in the same building as Earl of Sandwich: Earl of Sandwich Tavern. This restaurant does accept ADRs – but keep in mind, it’s scheduled to close in 2025 when the permanent Earl of Sandwich location opens later on in the Downtown Disney reimagining.

The good news? Earl of Sandwich can get crowded at popular mealtimes, but overall it’s a simple and quick place to dine. You shouldn’t need to worry about super-long lines or a lack of seating unless you’re visiting during the busiest times of the year.

Is Earl of Sandwich Kid-Friendly?

Whether you’re searching for a kid-friendly grab-and-go meal or a quick-service restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, Earl of Sandwich delivers on both fronts. You can opt to pick up sandwiches packaged to travel back to your hotel or into the theme parks, or enjoy a meal outdoors within Downtown Disney.

With its casual atmosphere, kids of all ages will have no problem hanging out and dining at Earl of Sandwich. Plus, there are plenty of satisfying sandwich options on the menu. Whether your kids want to try a simple Egg & Cheddar in the morning or a classic Grilled Cheese, there are complex choices for adults and simpler sandwiches for younger diners.

Dining with pickier eaters? Earl of Sandwich offers kid-friendly fare like Mac ‘n’ Cheese, too, so there are all kinds of options.
