Africa Marketplace Coming Spring 2015

Have you been wondering what’s been going on behind those construction walls in Africa? So have I! We knew it couldn’t have to do with the Avatar expansion on the other side of Animal Kingdom and couldn’t figure this out… but, now we finally have answers.

This expansion is going to house the new Africa Marketplace set to be unveiled in Spring 2015.  This area will consist of new shopping experiences, a path to connect Africa and Asia, and a new quick service restaurant called Harambe Marketplace. Harambe Marketplace will have several walkup windows for you to order your food, which will include African fare. Between Kilimanjaro Safaris and Mombassa Marketplace, Africa Marketplace is aimed to provide great benefits in decreasing the packed crowds that currently gather around this area.  This will combine with the new Africa-Asia pathway to create a much more open and spacious environment. I expect this to be a solid interlude to the upcoming Avatar expansion to transform Animal Kingdom into an even more important marquee element of Walt Disney World.
